Our Story
At Farmers Brewing Restaurant & Taproom, our brewing roots stretch from our family-owned farm in Princeton, CA, to every one of our 48 rotating taps and each farm-inspired dish on your plate.
The story of Farmers Brewing begins with Bill and Kristin Weller, both fifth-generation farmers in Princeton, CA, where the family farm has been in operation since the 1800s. On land that once relied on mule-driven plows and now utilizes GPS-guided tractors, the Weller family produces rice, almonds, walnuts, and wheat. Farming instilled in Bill the qualities of patience, hard work, and innovation.
What started as a garage hobby, with a first batch that accidentally transformed from Hefeweizen to Dunkelweizen, grew into a vision for a farm-driven, family-owned brewery. Today, Bill and Kristin's passion has flourished into Farmers Brewing Company, connecting traditional farming with modern craft beer. Their Chico restaurant and taproom expands on that ethos, offering a family and pet-friendly space, a vibrant patio with games and Adirondack chairs, and an adjacent retail shop that celebrates the full circle of farm, food, and flavor.
